MaSEA's Officers 

Amit Johar, EA President

Amit became an EA in 2015. Since then, he has been an active board member of MASEA. His practice focuses primarily on Small Businesses Taxes and Small Business Financial Planning. In addition to preparing tax returns, Amit has front line experience on running a business from Startup to Maturity.

Ferdinand M. Pellegrino, MPA, EA – 1st Vice President

Ferdinand M. Pellegrino, MPA, EA, is a former Internal Revenue Agent (retired) with the Small Business and Self-Employed Division of the IRS. Ferdinand has a total of 25 years of accounting expertise and has worked in Corporate Accounting, Public Accounting, Federal and State Accounting industries as a forensic accountant and a senior auditor. He has recently worked as a consultant to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. He has also represented many clients regarding tax resolution tax resolution with the IRS, Massachusetts Department of Revenue, State of Connecticut Department of Revenue Services, Georgia Department of Revenue and Comptroller of Maryland.  Presently his office is located in Woburn at the Tradecenter. 


Paul Hewick, EA 2nd Vice President

Paul Hewick became an Enrolled Agent on October 19, 2011 and has prepared tax returns with H&R Block since 2006.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Washington University, in St Louis, MBA degree from The George Washington University, and Graduate Accounting Certificate from Bentley University.  Since joining MASEA in 2011 he has been a member of the leadership committee and always looked for ways to update MASEA’s technology.  In addition to his focus on taxation, Paul has previously worked as a Financial Analyst at Unidine Corporation, and as a Marketing Specialist at Fidelity Investments.  Paul’s current goals are to expand his taxation skill set, and provide guidance to those considering a taxation career path.


John Pearson, EA- Treasurer 

John Pearson is an Enrolled Agent with 25 years experience in the financial services industry. As an Enrolled Agent, John is licensed to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service.   John has an MBA from Northeastern University. He has been preparing taxes professionally since 2006.


Lisa Wright, EA- Secretary

Lisa A. Wright, the owner of Bookswright™ Advisors, LLC, has been working with individuals, sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations for ten years strategizing to lower tax burdens and simplify accounting and bookkeeping, while providing key monthly information to owners so that they can make sound business decisions. Lisa earned her Master of Science in Taxation at Suffolk University along with a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting in 2012. She became and Enrolled Agent in 2017. She also graduated from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a Bachelor of the Arts in German. She’s been on the MASEA Board of Directors since 2018 and is in her second year as Secretary.


Marilyn Brodeur, EA – Director

Brodeur Tax and Accounting Services opened in January 2017 – providing tax preparation, tax planning and accounting to individuals, small businesses, trusts and estates. Stock Options is one of my specialties!

Marilyn has been providing tax and accounting services to small business and individual tax clients for over 30 years.  Marilyn worked for 23 years at Tax & Business Services of Wakefield, 10 years for Cary & Johnson CPA's in Melrose and several accounting managers positions before entering the public accounting industry. She earned her EA license from the IRS in 1993, has been a member of Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents and a member of National Association of Enrolled Agents since 1992.  Marilyn also holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University. Annual participation in Continuing Professional Education courses offered by local chapters of national accounting and tax associations keeps her on the leading edge of ever-changing tax laws and accounting methods.

In her time away from the office she enjoys time at the beach, reading and time spent with her husband, Steve and children Alex & Kris. . Also, an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.  As a two-time cancer survivor, she supports other women in treatment.  Also, a volunteer and supporter of the Tanner Ta Ta Organization of Woburn.


Nate Zielonka, EA, CFP - Director

Nathan Zielonka is Boston born and bred. He graduated from Boston Latin School and earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Harvard and Boston Universities. After 15 years of experience as an advisor and consultant with H&R Block, Block Financial, TurboTax and Ameriprise Financial he formed his own firm, Zielonka Financial Services, to provide a customized approach to clients whose needs had grown more complex than  they were comfortable managing, or who simply became aware that their time was better spent with their families or working in their areas of specialization rather than attempting to keep up with changes in the tax laws or investment strategies.

Mr. Zielonka is a financial planner holding the CFP designation and licensed by the Internal Revenue Service to represent taxpayers before the IRS. He specializes in helping clients with annual tax filing preparation as well as longer term planning to take advantage of evolving tax opportunities. He also develops financial plans by helping to identify and prioritize achievable goals, managing both retirement and non-retirement investments and take steps to manage risk. Nate firmly believes that whether your goal is family security, retirement savings, education planning for children (or grandchildren), or leaving a legacy for family or charity, planning is the first step to making that happen.

Mr. Zielonka is a member of Temple Emanuel. He lives in Boston with his wife and daughter, currently a junior at Boston Latin School. Nate is active in Brotherhood and believes in giving back to the community. He has served as a Director of the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents in addition to serving on the Board of Urban Edge Community Development Corporation, a non-profit housing corporation in the Roxbury – Jamaica Plain neighborhoods where Nate grew up.


Nancy Lam, EA - Director

Nancy Lam is the owner of NALam & Associates, LLC . She has operated this practice since 2012 providing tax consultation and tax preparation services for businesses and individuals. Prior to this practice, she had worked for Edward Scribner, CPA office for 18 years and for Greater Boston Legal Services for 16 years.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies and Graduate Studies in Public Policies at U Mass Boston, Accountancy Certificate at Bentley College and Master of Science in Taxation at Northeastern. She was also a recipient of Woodrow Wilson Foundation for Public Policy Studies fellowship.

Mamta Chowdhary, EA - Director

Mamta Chowdhary is an EA and a chartered accountant. She has over 15 years experience in accounting and taxation. She specializes in high net worth individuals and small businesses.


Mason Klinck, EA - Director, Government Relations

Mason Klinck has been both a Revenue Agent for the IRS as well as a Partnership Auditor for the California Franchise Tax Board, with an emphasis on abusive multi-tier tax shelters. In addition, he has worked for law and public accounting firms in taxpayer defense, legal research, tax planning and return preparation. His practice now consists of taxpayer representation as well as consulting. Mason has managed VITA sites, and done pro bono work for Low Income Taxpayer Clinics in California, Massachusetts and Vermont. He has taught in graduate tax programs and published in the technical press. Mason holds two degrees from Oxford as well as a Master of Science in Taxation and an MBA, and is on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents.


Elizabeth Logan, EA –  Past President:

Beth has a tax practice and consulting company in Chelmsford. She focuses on helping individuals and small businesses. She teaches tax classes to lay persons and professionals. In the lulls between tax seasons, she researches tax topics, writes books, and represents clients before the IRS. She has an MBA from the University of Maryland and two engineering degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology.
